Minutes of Special Parish Meeting Sept. 28, 2003

Article 1: To consider the recommendations of the Renovation Steering Committee relative to project finances.

Barry Kray made this motion: "that the Renovation Steering Committee be authorized to spend an additional $55,000 to complete the project as approved by the Parish, bringing the total amount authorized for the project to $1,435,000." He explained that the extra money would cover additional landscaping costs. The city's approval for the landscaping is not required. The additional landscaping includes the connection between the parish hall and the church, retaining walls, tree replacements, brick work, and steps leading up to Unicom Street. There is a contingency of $4,000 to pay for the work in the parish hall to install a handicap accessible bathroom and paint the lower hall.

The motion passed with 5 abstentions.

Anne Verret Speck made this motion: "that the Parish Committee be authorized to increase the mortgage amount previously approved at Annual Meeting by $40,000, bringing the total authorized borrowing to $240,000." The motion was seconded by Nancy Kidd. There were no questions.

The motion passed with 2 abstentions. The meeting adjourned at 11:50.
