INSTRUCTIONS FOR HOSTING COFFEE HOUR

Thank you for hosting Coffee Hour.

If you have any questions, please call Marilyn Archibald.

One family or person will be asked to bring a quart of half & half and a quart whole milk and one family or person will be asked to bring a gallon of juice for the kids. All participants are welcome to bring snack foods, but food is optional-bring only if you wish to do so. If food is brought, please do not put out on tables until the coffee is being poured.

Plan to arrive at Parish Hall by 10:00 am.

COFFEE: The coffee should be the first thing you do. Coffee is located under the cabinets on the wall with the phone. Tea is located there also.

  1. Fill the large 100 cup coffee urn to the 100 cup line. Use 8 cups of regular coffee (one full package). Turn this on right away as it takes 1 ½ hours to brew.

  2. Fill the 55 cup coffee urn to the 55 cup line. Use 4 cups of Decaf coffee (a little more than ½ bag). Turn this urn on by 10:30 am.

  3. Fill the small urn marked "water" with 30 cups of water and plug in for tea water.

  4. Put out the 'silver' mugs and their sign for those people who wish to initiate conversation.

  5. Set up two tables outside the kitchen doors in Parish Hall with tablecloths (located in the lower right hand drawer on the wall with the phone.) Put out mugs, spoons, tea, sugar and sweeteners and napkins.

  6. The stainless steel coffee containers are in the cabinets and are marked "Reg" and "Decaf". Set these out with the ½ and ½ and milk in pitchers.

  7. Before leaving for church, check to make sure the urns are on and working (you can hear them and feel the warmth).
  8. Return to Parish Hall at the start of the last hymn.

  9. Put out the cream and milk, pour juice, and put coffee in the steel containers and hot water into the 2 brown carafes.

  10. Clean up. Coffee cups are placed in the racks and left for the Sexton to run through the dishwasher. Please wipe the tablecloths and put away. Empty and wash the coffee urns and store on the windowsill. Throw the coffee grounds in the trash. Wipe all counters, turn off the lights and lock the doors if you are the last to leave.
AND MANY THANKS!
Take me home!
