How to take part in church decision-making |
|
|
There are many ways to take part in decisions of the church, one of the most obvious being to join a committee in the area of your interests. Most committees welcome new members, though the Parish Committee, the Committee on the Ministry, and all committee heads are elected at the Annual Meeting. Click here to see the range of committees at this church. Of course, you may also start a small group ministry, task force, or ad-hoc group if you wish. Before doing so, you might want to check with the minister or with the Parish Committee, which is our governing body. If you want to take part in the discussion at the Annual Meeting or at meetings of the whole parish, you may do so at any of these meetings, but to vote in such meetings, you must be a member of the First Religious Society, as specified in our constitution. |
