When: Saturday, March 6, 2021, 2pm on Zoom

Director of Church Music Justin Murphy-Mancini will entertain you with live organ music while you fill out your pledge card and engage in community!

Join him live on Zoom for a concert of Baroque and Romantic treasures, including a complete performance of Robert Schumann’s grand set of Six Fugues on the Name BACH, Op. 60, along with pieces by Bach himself and his predecessor Nicolaus Bruhns.

At 2pm, Justin will give a short presentation about the Schumann that will answer questions including:

• “What is a fugue, anyway?”

• “How do you write a piece with someone’s name in it?”

• “Why did Schumann care enough about Bach to write all this music about him?” and much more.

At 2:30, there will be a short break for you to grab your pledge cards and greet one another before Justin launches into the music, featuring Bach’s virtuosic Fantasia and Fugue in G minor.

A short intermission will give you an opportunity to fill out your cards and engage socially before Justin returns to perform the Schumann.

Join Justin and your fellow church members and friends for this special afternoon of music and sharing while recommitting to FRS!
