Lasagna servings get bigger at Friendship Table

FRS participated in the Friendship Table at the Salvation Army on Thursday, January 19. We seem to be serving fewer guests lately which means we are giving larger servings of lasagna. We are also providing meals for people who request to-go orders. We had a considerable number of helpers which actually worked out quite well. The Salvation Army provided us with two high school students, one of whom required some sustained ongoing support. It was quite a challenge to keep him on task. I am a retired teacher and he provided me with opportunities to use some of the strategies I used to manage children in my classrooms. I wasn't as rusty as I thought!

My sincere thanks to Mark Lawler who baked four pans of lasagna and brought two salads. Thank you to the following for donations: Ann Haaser, Maureen Condon, Florence Mercer, Linda Buddenhagen, Cecilia Healy, Joe Brouillet, Barbara Garnis, Nancy Crochiere, Anke Schafer, Karen Young, Merryl Maleska Wilbur, Ginger Bard, Anne Verret Speck, Paula Francese, Ann Power and her two granddaughters. If I have inadvertently left you out of the acknowledgements or spelled your name incorrectly, please let me know and I will make corrections.--Monique Greilich
