For those who do not identify as trans or nonbinary\, this is an opportunity to show support loudly and proudly for a community that is confronting hate\, mis- and disinformation\, and unprecedented legislative and executive efforts to disempower\, invalidate\, and marginalize. \nRev. When immigrants to the United States apply for asylum\, they are not allowed to work for the following six months. How can they survive with no income? For 38 years\, RIM\, the Refugee Immigration Ministry\, has engaged congregations in an interfaith support system for these people. FRSUU was once an integral part of RIM. On December 1\, the founder and leader of RIM\, the Rev. Dr. Ruth Bersin\, will be at FRS to reintroduce our congregation to the meaningful work that they do.

Then\, we will meet in front of the church at 12:45pm to walk together to the vigil in Market Square \nPlease join the Welcoming Committee for a Justice Sunday program about Transgender Day of Remembrance\, an annual opportunity to remember the trans people who have been killed in anti-trans violence during the year. Following the Justice Sunday program\, people are invited to join us on a silent march from the church to Market Square for a Transgender Day of Remembrance vigil where the names of these individuals will be read and where we will join together in song and prayer. All ages welcome.
