DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, May 18\, Museum of Old Newbury\, 11:45am-2pm. \nJoin the parade\, led by a New Orleans-style second line jazz band\, to the Museum of Old Newbury for a garden party celebrating the 300th anniversary of FRS! We’re encouraging all to make and carry signs celebrating our 300 years working for peace and justice. Due to limited parking\, we suggest joining us for the 0.4 mile walk from the church to the museum. \nThe garden party will include a light lunch\, coffee\, tea\, soft drinks\, and water. The party will be outside in the museum garden weather permitting. In case of rain\, we’ll be in the lower level of the museum and in the carriage house. Please join us for this relaxed opportunity to socialize and celebrate our history together. Listen to music\, wander through the museum gardens\, and enjoy tasty treats while children enjoy games and activities. Rev. Rebecca will offer a blessing. \nMuseum staff will be available to give tours of the historic museum’s first floor\, including the original FRSUU weathercock. Friendly\, knowledgeable tour guides will share fascinating stories in the museum’s period rooms and galleries. You will walk through this Federal-period house\, from its 1808 beginning as a ship captain’s home to its ownership by multiple generations of the Cushing family.
