    Sundays, Sanctuary, 10:30-11:30am with livestream on YouTube. Join us for worship from the Sunday after Labor Day through late spring. Experience elements of the world religions, including our Christian roots and humanism. Find inspiration in choral and instrumental music (including organ), congregational singing, a time for children, readings, an offering, and meditative silence. Hear a sermon on social justice, spirituality, dealing with life’s challenges, or other issues. We may celebrate a holiday, act out a skit, or hold a coming-of-age ceremony. Services are usually followed by a 30-minute fellowship gathering or a monthly Justice Sunday program.

    Sunday, September 28, LMH Main Room and Zoom, 11:30am-1:30pm. Join us for our first Parish Board-Congregational Meeting of the new church year. Come have a cup of coffee, meet the new members of the Board, learn about its priorities for this church year, and ask your questions. As we finish up our celebratory 300th anniversary year, we are looking to the future and what we want for our community. The Board will meet with the congregation over the course of the year to keep us informed on its work and the progress it is making. Holocaust survivor Janet Singer Applefield speaks openly about her experiences as a child survivor of the Holocaust in the hope of raising awareness and understanding of the dangers of prejudice, discrimination, and injustice.     All who love poetry, and who enjoy listening to poetry are invited to join the FRSUU Poetry Group. This poetry listening and appreciation group meets on Tuesday mornings for 45 minutes via Zoom. We read the same poem several times, respond to prompts, and share perspectives, wisdom, humor, and collegiality. There is no poetry writing in this group. Please join us and give your soul and psyche the gift of poetry on a Tuesday morning. This group is facilitated by Rev. Jane Tuohy.   • Stand Up for Our Immigrant Neighbors

    Tuesday, September 30, Sanctuary, 7-8pm. Join us for a special program supporting our immigrant and refugee neighbors, workmates, and friends. We will meet with our state representatives, Senator Tarr and Representative Shand, to advocate for two bills currently before the legislature that are designed to provide some measure of protection to those being targeted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) by limiting state agencies from cooperating with ICE. Many of us are disturbed and angered by the actions of this administration and wonder what we can do to show our support for members of the immigrant and refugee community. One thing we can do is turn out in force to meet our legislators so they understand how important these bills are to us. Please join us on September 30 to learn more about these bills and to demonstrate our community’s commitment to standing up for immigrants and refugees.
