Please join us for an informative presentation by Patti Muldoon\, President of the Funeral Consumers Alliance of Eastern Massachusetts. FCAEM is affiliated with the national FCA\, a non-profit organization empowering people to choose simple\, meaningful\, affordable after-death arrangements. Patti is also an end-of-life doula and the Aging Resources Coordinator (ARCH) for New England Quakers. She will give us an overview of the practical options available for advance planning for deathcare. She focuses on considering the values and preferences of your loved one and family when planning for a funeral\, cremation\, burial\, and “greener” choices for after-death care arrangements. An abbreviated list of resources will be offered. There will be time for questions at the end of the program.

Misaligned posture such as rounding forward (otherwise known as the way most of us age) is associated with pain and a multitude of health problems. In this presentation\, you will learn how the nervous system controls posture\, balance\, and movement. We can use this understanding to make improvements in neuromuscular function\, which can help us maintain a more active lifestyle and positively impact longevity. \nOur presenter:\nJackie Orent-Nathan is a Nurse Practitioner specializing in the neuroscience of posture\, balance\, and movement\, as well as the management of chronic pain. Following a long career managing patients with chronic pain within a primary care practice\, she now lectures and teaches classes about how to calm an overprotective nervous system to manage pain\, and how to support the nervous system to improve posture\, balance\, and movement.

Both are important parts of our systems that can be trained to support us in all parts of our day to create greater balance and harmony with each step and breath. \nRee Coleman returns to start us off with some movement and will then focus on educating us on creating healthier vision habits to ease the daily stress and strain our eyes endure. \nRee is a certified Kundalini Yoga\, specializing in Eyes On Yoga combining yoga with the Bates Method Vision Improvement\, as well as Brain Gym to coordinate eyes with brain and body for greater balance. \n

We’ll start with a short video of Dr. Sanjay Gupta\, author of many books\, including Keep Sharp: Build a Better Brain at Any Age. Ree Coleman\, guest speaker\, will focus us on movement. She will teach us gentle exercises that can be done sitting or standing. Ree is a certified Kundalini Yoga\, specializing in Eyes On Yoga combining yoga with the Bates Method Vision Improvement\, as well as Brain Gym to coordinate eyes with brain and body for greater balance.
