The Short Story Group meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month from noon-1pm in the Lower Meetinghouse (note masks are no longer required for all indoor meetings but are recommended).

With this upcoming meeting, we begin with the new anthology we selected The Best American Short Stories -2007, edited by Stephen King.

We will discuss the first story:

Pa’s Darling – by Louis Auchincloss.  It’s an easy(?) start, just 14 pages.

FYI:

There are 20 stories in this book; stories are selected from U.S. and Canadian magazines. At the rate of one story per meeting, if we read every one, the book will occupy us for ten months.

Copies new and used are readily available  – although the list price of the trade paperback is $24.95, new copies are available from online sources for between $10.25-$16.00; used copies (which I got) are abundant for even less.

May All Your Stories be Good Ones.
