Sunday, February 24. Lower Meeting House, noon-2:30pm. Join us for a viewing of “Waste Land”, the academy award-winning documentary about catadores (pickers of recyclable materials) in the world’s largest landfill outside of Rio de Janeiro and the world-renown artist who set out to “paint” portraits of them with garbage. As we reflect on the theme of service this month, this movie will engage us in thinking about how a person’s idea of “helping” can get turned on its head once relationships are formed. For more information about the movie, click here:http://www.wastelandmovie.com/synopsis.html To request childcare for this event, please contact Julie Parker Amery: julie.amery@frsuu.org. The movie is recommended for ages 13 and up and will be followed by discussion.
