Ken and Elizabeth Kretsch have donated a handmade font to hold the 1805 baptismal bowl that is used when babies are dedicated. Ken designed the font to match the décor of the church. He used poplar and plywood for the base and Caribbean rosewood for the top. Ken writes, “I am a nut for beautiful wood grain, and rosewood has the most beautiful grain of any wood I have worked with.” The font is mounted on wheels and has a built-in storage area and a removable collar to stabilize the bowl when it is being used for a dedication. Ken is, as he said in his Journey of Faith in 2015, so glad to have finally found his spiritual home and wanted to give something that reflects his joy.
