Centering – The Journey to Your True Self

Apr 7, 2019

On April 7, friends and members of the First Religious Society Unitarian Universalist’s shared a Sunday service on centering voices and people who have historically been marginalized. Friends Elliot and Susan shared their story of “The journey of finding and living your true self” – a reflection from this family on transgender. A service that moved many and opened hearts, including one gentleman who, after the service told, Elliot he is a stubborn man who never changes his mind. With tears, he told Elliot that he has changed his mind.

How might centering moments like these change our lives and the world we live in?

Questions to ponder, discuss and hold…

What parts of yourself do you tend to marginalize and how can you begin to center them in your decision making?

Before you make your next decision, invite someone different into the discussion and see where it goes.

Think of a group of people that have been historically marginalized and commit to one way that you can listen to and learn from them more.
