Sunday, September 13, Sanctuary, 10:30am with livestream on YouTube. New Soil, New Blooms: A Flower Communion We open our year together with FRSUU's beloved flower communion. Bring a flower — from your garden, a roadside, or the grocery store, it doesn't matter — and we'll gather them into one shared vase, each bloom distinct and each one needed. This year the ritual carries a little extra meaning: as a congregation in transition, we're not just exchanging flowers, we're planting ourselves together in new soil for the season ahead. Come ready to name, quietly or aloud, what you're bringing to this community this year. The service will be led by our new Interim Minister, Rev. Connie Simon. Our annual church picnic will follow worship. Enjoy sandwiches, sides, and fellowship in the Lower Meetinghouse and outside on the patio, weather permitting.
2nd and 4th Mondays, LMH Room A, 11am-12:30pm. This group is for those who have a diagnosis of Mild Cognitive Impairment of some type of dementia. The group offers members an opportunity to share with others who are facing this-life limiting diagnosis. Members are able to be vulnerable and open about the many challenges they face, as well as their adaptive coping mechanisms. This is facilitated by Nancy Kidd, LICSW; Rev. Jane Tuohy; and Linda Harding. For more information, contact Nancy Kidd at nankdd@gmail.com or 978-376-8687.
Mondays, LMH Main Room, 6:30pm. These weekly sessions are led by Joyce Haydock, Senior Dharma Teacher with the International Kwan Um School of Zen. She has been with the school since 1989. This FRS UU Monday group was established over ten years ago. Our sessions consist of two or three chants, two readings/teachings and 30 minutes of sitting meditation. Beginners are welcome. Contact Joyce at 978-363-5457 or email joycehaydock@outlook.com to be added to our list and receive access information.
