Saturday, July 18, LMH Room A, 9:30-11am. Why do thoughtful people see the same world so differently? In this 90-minute interactive workshop, participants will explore worldviews: the largely invisible values and assumptions that shape what we notice, what we trust, and what we resist. Participants will take a short worldview assessment and consider three major worldviews active in the United States today — traditional, modern, and progressive — and why they so often talk past one another. This workshop offers a practical introduction for anyone interested in personal growth, intellectual exploration, or better dialogue across differences. To make the workshop convenient for more people, the same 90-minute session will be offered several times this summer. Each session begins at 9:30 AM. Please choose the Saturday date that works best for you: June 27, July 18, July 25, August 15, or August 29. To attend, please contact David Turner in advance at davidyturner@gmail.com. David is a longtime FRSUU member with 40 years of experience facilitating adult learning programs focused on interpersonal skills in professional environments.
Sunday, July 19, Sanctuary and YouTube, 10am Visions of Hell – led by Doug Latham Concepts of the afterlife have evolved over millennia. Why does an afterlife occupy such a prominent place in the human search for meaning? How does the question or certainty of an afterlife resonate with liberal theology? What meaning does it hold in our lives?

Wednesdays, July and August, LMH Room A, 9:45-11:15am. Meetings will move back to the Robing Room in September. Centering Prayer is a form of Christian Contemplative Meditation. The purpose of this meditation is not to clear the mind as much as it is to open oneself to the presence of the Divine and invite the action of the Divine within. No previous experience or training is required. This form of Contemplative prayer is a practice in resting in the presence of God through non-thinking surrender and to form a deeper relationship with the Divine. Centering Prayer will be led by Cynthia Tolbert. All are welcome. Please contact Rev. Jane Tuohy at jane.tuohy@frsuu.org or 617-359-0079 if you have questions.
