Saturday, October 4, Parish Hall 1st Floor, 9am-5pm. The Annual Newburyport Chocolate Tour starts at First Religious Society. The Parish Hall will be for volunteer check-in and the brick area in front of the church is for tour ticket-holders to check in. Tour participants spend this day sampling chocolate goodies as they stroll through delightful stores throughout the beautiful downtown Newburyport. As always, 100% of the net proceeds will be passed on to local non-profit programs. In the last 10 years, the Newburyport Chocolate Tour has given away over $120,000 to 25+ local groups!
Sunday, October 5, Waterfront Park, 9am-12pm. Each year, community members gather at Newburyport’s Waterfront Park to walk a scenic 3-mile route in honor of victims and survivors of domestic violence. We also gather in celebration of the hope and healing found by survivors through our collective support. FRSUU will once again have a Walk Team. We hope you can join us at this year's walk! First, register to walk here! Then join the FRSUU walk team here!
Sundays, Sanctuary, 10:30-11:30am with livestream on YouTube. Join us for worship from the Sunday after Labor Day through late spring. Experience elements of the world religions, including our Christian roots and humanism. Find inspiration in choral and instrumental music (including organ), congregational singing, a time for children, readings, an offering, and meditative silence. Hear a sermon on social justice, spirituality, dealing with life’s challenges, or other issues. We may celebrate a holiday, act out a skit, or hold a coming-of-age ceremony. Services are usually followed by a 30-minute fellowship gathering or a monthly Justice Sunday program.
