  • Democracy Strong

    Wednesday, February 11, Parish Hall 1st Floor, 7pm. Cookies, cider, and socializing/connecting at 6:30pm. Democracy Strong is a local chapter of Indivisible RISE, the national group which has been sponsoring demonstrations in support of immigrant rights, our shared constitutional rights, and in defense of democracy. Their mission is to raise awareness, educate, and offer options for citizens who are ready to take action in defense of our constitution and our democracy. We are coordinating with LUCE Immigrant Justice Network, the Greater Newburyport Democratic Committee, and others moving to action.     Meets Thursdays (previously on Tuesdays) on Zoom at 11am. The FRSUU Poetry Group is open to all who enjoy reading or listening to poetry. Prompts or questions are provided as we listen multiple times to one poem a week. If you have been wishing you had more time in your busy schedule for poetry, give yourself the gift of one hour of poetry on Thursday mornings. Individuals with questions should contact Rev.   • Beginning Hatha Yoga

    Saturdays, January 10 - February 14, Hayward Room, 9-10am. (Setup from 8:30-9am) This is a beginning class focused on turning stress into resilience, offered by Pamela Erickson, RYT 200, and a lifelong educator. The classes are free, however, 50% of any donations (optional) will go to the church. Participants should bring a yoga mat, towel or small blanket, and water with them.     FRS Sanctuary 26 Pleasant St, Newburyport, MA, United States

    Sundays, Sanctuary, 10:30-11:30am with livestream on YouTube. Join us for worship from the Sunday after Labor Day through late spring. Experience elements of the world religions, including our Christian roots and humanism. Find inspiration in choral and instrumental music (including organ), congregational singing, a time for children, readings, an offering, and meditative silence. Hear a sermon on social justice, spirituality, dealing with life’s challenges, or other issues. We may celebrate a holiday, act out a skit, or hold a coming-of-age ceremony. Services are usually followed by a 30-minute fellowship gathering or a monthly Justice Sunday program.
