Exploring Elderhood Together presents Random Acts of Connection on Thursday, September 26, 1:00-2:30pm in the Lower Meeting House with George Gray, Rotarian and Professor at Salem State University. Perhaps you’ve seen people with a “HAPPY TO CHAT” sign, engaged in conversation. They are part of a growing number of programs popping up in neighboring communities and beyond, whose whole purpose is to get people to talk to each other and connect.

Though Covid is behind us, the social disconnection of that difficult time lingers still. Programs like Happy to Chat are in response to U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy’s call to “create a movement to mend the social fabric of our nation…by strengthening our connections and relationships.”

We are excited to have George Gray, a Rotarian and a professor at Salem State share his experience launching Happy Chats in Ipswich and Rowley. Program includes Q and A and discussion.
