Thanks to all FRS volunteers who are contributing to the construction of Habitat homes in Salisbury. The next date for the FRS Habitat volunteers to work at the build site is June 22. We have just enough volunteers for that date but may be able to add a couple more. There is still plenty of room for:
- Saturday, July 20
- and Saturday, August 24
August will be a sleepy time for FRS generally, so we hope to fill our list soon for the August build date. To sign up, send an email to FRSHabitat@gmail.com with your name, email, phone, and the date (or dates) you’d like to join our FRS Habitat team on the build site. Families have been selected for the first three Salisbury homes. They will soon be working side by side with us and contributing their “sweat equity” by participating in the construction.
Are you interested in volunteering in a way that doesn’t require a hammer? Habitat is in search of the following volunteers:
- a person who is familiar with excel and can create a template that will allow us to create a ‘dashboard’ that presents Habitat data in a visual manner.
- people to do data entry. With at least double the paperwork from last year, there is a lot of data entry.
- someone knowledgeable about tools and likes to organize. We have two mini-containers at the build site that need to be organized.
- Plumbers ideally licensed in MA – this is specifically for the Salisbury site.
- an attorney who would be willing to do pro bono work on real estate closings. This is one of the bottlenecks in delaying families from becoming homeowners.
