Upcoming “Seeing White” Sessions in 2021

When and why did the concept of race begin? What does it mean to be white in the United States? Where do we, as “good white people” fit into the national reckoning on race? Join us for a discussion of the podcast series “Seeing White,” which examines race by turning the lens onto white people. We’ll discuss one episode at each meeting, beginning with how and why race was created, and ending with actions to take to dismantle white supremacy. Join the forty other FRS members and friends who have been moved by the experience of “Seeing White”!

“The Seeing White program was insightful and humbling.  It led me to examine my own whiteness like I never have before; and while I’m better for it, I’m nowhere near where I need to be.  It’s particularly relevant in the context of current racial issues, and I would highly recommend it to anyone moved to act and be part of the conversation going forward.”—Mary Sortal, “Seeing White” participant, summer 2020.
