Prompts or questions are provided as we listen multiple times to one poem a week. Saturday, February 28, The Screening Room, Newburyport, 10am. Doors open at 9:30am. In recognition of Black History Month, the FRSUU Anti-Racism Initiative is hosting a screening of the Academy Award winning 2004 film, CRASH. The film interweaves several connected stories about race, class, family and gender in post 9/11 Los Angeles. As time allows, join us after the film for a brief discussion and an opportunity to consider the relevance of the 8th principle and the spiritual work of dismantling racism and other oppressions. Suggested donation is $10 at the door, payable in cash or check (made out to FRSUU) to defray costs. Tickets are limited; reserve your seats HERE. We hope to see you there!

1st Sundays, beginning November 2, LMH Room A, 9:30-10:30am. This is a monthly meeting to discuss and plan actions in support of the immigrant and refugee communities.
Sundays, Sanctuary, 10:30-11:30am with livestream on YouTube. Join us for worship from the Sunday after Labor Day through late spring. Experience elements of the world religions, including our Christian roots and humanism. Find inspiration in choral and instrumental music (including organ), congregational singing, a time for children, readings, an offering, and meditative silence. Hear a sermon on social justice, spirituality, dealing with life’s challenges, or other issues. We may celebrate a holiday, act out a skit, or hold a coming-of-age ceremony. Services are usually followed by a 30-minute fellowship gathering or a monthly Justice Sunday program.

Kevin Neel, organ: A versatile performer who also collaborates as a pianist, conductor, and singer, Kevin Neel holds a Master of Sacred Music degree from Boston University and a Bachelor of Music degree from Indiana University in Organ Performance. As an organist Kevin has performed in many venues including Symphony Hall in Boston; the Cathedral of St. Philip in Atlanta, GA; Methuen Memorial Music Hall; and Church of the Advent and Trinity Church in Boston.
