Meets in the Hayward Room
All who love poetry, and who enjoy listening to poetry are invited to join the FRSUU Poetry Group. This poetry listening and appreciation group meets on Tuesday mornings for 45 minutes via Zoom. We read the same poem several times, respond to prompts, and share perspectives, wisdom, humor, and collegiality. There is no poetry writing in this group. Please join us and give your soul and psyche the gift of poetry on a Tuesday morning. This group is facilitated by Rev. Jane Tuohy. Each 30-minute session will include a guided visualization and reflection on questions around where we hold stress and how we can release it. You’ll also learn some relaxation techniques to use on your own. This is a drop-in program; come one time or many. If you'd like to reach out to Woman, email susanc0805@gmail.com. Wednesdays, May 28 - July 9, LMH Room A, 10-11am. Led by Cynthia Tolbert. For almost 20 years Cynthia Tolbert has practiced Centering Prayer, a silent meditation of consent to the presence and action of the Divine within. In essence, contemplative prayer is simply a wordless, trusting opening of self to the Divine presence, however you name that presence, The Divine, the One Light, God, the Creator. It is not a guided meditation, you do not offer any words in prayer, you just listen and open yourself to the Divine. Centering Prayer will be on hiatus after July 9 until September.
Wednesday, July 9, Barking Dog Grill, noon. The next meeting of ROMEO is at the Barking Dog Grill, 21 Friend St, Amesbury, MA 01913, https://www.barkingdoggrill.com. Our Officer of the Day is Chuck Kennedy who can be reached at chuckanzie@gmail.com. Please feel free to contact Chuck if you have any questions or concerns. No reservations are required, but $$$ to pay your share of the tab is needed.

Meets weekly on Friday
Second Saturdays, Lower Meetinghouse Main Room, 8-11am.
Sunday, July 13, Sanctuary, 10am with livestream on YouTube. One More Step – Sue Creed The inspiration for Sue's topic, “One More Step,” comes from the writings of the late Maxine Steeves, wife of the late Rev. Bertrand Steeves, FRSUU minister from 1956-1994. Having been a personal witness to the times during which Maxine and Bert lived and ministered, Sue hopes to draw a through line of real activism here at the FRSUU for all of us. Via Maxine's stories, may we hear a call to action and do all that we are able to meet today’s challenges.
