FRSUU and other faith-based, labor, and social justice groups in the Newburyport area are working with the Merrimack Valley Project to form a coalition to protect the rights of everyone who lives here. The Merrimack Valley Project works to unite groups to work toward social, racial, and economic justice, especially for immigrant and other marginalized communities. We are facing unprecedented threats to our immigrant neighbors and friends. How can we work together to ensure that our community is safe for them? Join us for a workshop on how to strengthen communities through organizing, and to start the conversation on what we can do to protect our neighbors and prepare for the challenges of the future.     Sunday, May 10, Town Field Park, Dorchester, 8-11am. The FRSUU Walk Team has participated in the Mother’s Day Walk for many years. Join Rev. Rebecca and the Team for a morning of great exercise and wonderful fellowship with thousands of others supporting the healing work of the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute. Show your support for the Peace Institute’s mission of serving as a center of healing, teaching, and learning for families and communities impacted by murder, trauma, grief, and loss.   • Centering Prayer Meditation

    Change of day as of April 6, 2026: meeting weekly on Mondays, Robing Room, 10-11am. Centering Prayer is a form of Christian Contemplative Meditation. The purpose of this meditation is not to clear the mind as much as it is to open oneself to the presence of the Divine and invite the action of the Divine within. No previous experience or training is required. This form of Contemplative prayer is a practice in resting in the presence of God through non-thinking surrender and to form a deeper relationship with the Divine.   • Mild Cognitive Impairment Support Group

    2nd and 4th Mondays, LMH Room A, 11am-12:30pm. This group is for those who have a diagnosis of Mild Cognitive Impairment of some type of dementia. The group offers members an opportunity to share with others who are facing this-life limiting diagnosis. Members are able to be vulnerable and open about the many challenges they face, as well as their adaptive coping mechanisms. This is facilitated by Nancy Kidd, LICSW; Rev.
