Please join us for an informative presentation by Patti Muldoon, President of the Funeral Consumers Alliance of Eastern Massachusetts. FCAEM is affiliated with the national FCA, a non-profit organization empowering people to choose simple, meaningful, affordable after-death arrangements. Patti is also an end-of-life doula and the Aging Resources Coordinator (ARCH) for New England Quakers. She will give us an overview of the practical options available for advance planning for deathcare. She focuses on considering the values and preferences of your loved one and family when planning for a funeral, cremation, burial, and “greener" choices for after-death care arrangements. An abbreviated list of resources will be offered. There will be time for questions at the end of the program.

Mystic Circles is a gathering of individuals who have interest in sharing and affirming their own experiences of the Divine, the holy, and the Sacred, and worshiping together. We are very diverse from the perspective of religious/spiritual backgrounds and orientations. We share a commitment to staying open to mystery. Mysticism is about an attitude of receptivity. Throughout the ages, mystics have sought union with the Divine—with God (however you define God)—through a variety of spiritual practices. Mysticism is not about a set of beliefs or dogma; rather it is about the felt experience of longing for union with the Holy and of belonging to something larger than yourself. Sometimes mystical moments can be about ordinary experiences of awe and wonder. In Mystic Circles we bear witness to one another’s experiences, share our questions, and create embodied worship practices. No previous experience with mysticism is required. We practice non-judgmental listening and freedom of expression as we each listen to each other and our own deepest selves. For more information, please email Rev. Jane Tuohy at Jane.tuohy@frsuu.org.

Now, Indivisible leaders are encouraging the formation of community-based teams to engage in non-cooperation with the rise of authoritarianism in this country through non-violent resistance. Organizers for this community gathering are Barbara Dowd, Nicole Whelan, and Rev. Jane Tuohy. Individuals who are interested should contact Rev. Jane at jane.tuohy@frsuu.org.
