    Wednesday, February 11, Parish Hall 1st Floor, 7pm. Cookies, cider, and socializing/connecting at 6:30pm. Democracy Strong is a local chapter of Indivisible RISE, the national group which has been sponsoring demonstrations in support of immigrant rights, our shared constitutional rights, and in defense of democracy. Their mission is to raise awareness, educate, and offer options for citizens who are ready to take action in defense of our constitution and our democracy. We are coordinating with LUCE Immigrant Justice Network, the Greater Newburyport Democratic Committee, and others moving to action.     Sunday, January 18, Parish Hall, noon Join the Anti-Racism Initiative Team for Justice Sunday for a fun, interactive activity titled American Legacy – Know Your History focused on Black history in the U.S. Enjoy this opportunity to learn together while enjoying delicious soups and salads! We also encourage you to attend the YWCA Greater Newburyport Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemoration & Day of Service on Monday, January 19.     Second Wednesdays, 7-8:30pm. The January 14 and February 11 meetings will be in the Parish Hall. A newly forming Indivisible Democracy Defense Community Team is being organized to promote resistance to rising authoritarianism and threats to our democracy. Indivisible is the nationwide organization that has been a key organizer of the No Kings and Good Trouble resistance marches. This is an action-oriented group. Now, Indivisible leaders are encouraging the formation of community-based teams to engage in non-cooperation with the rise of authoritarianism in this country through non-violent resistance. Organizers for this community gathering are Barbara Dowd, Nicole Whelan, and Rev. Jane Tuohy. Individuals who are interested should contact Rev. Jane at jane.tuohy@frsuu.org.
