Immigration Justice Meeting

1st Sundays, beginning November 2, LMH Room A, 9:30-10:30am. This is a monthly meeting to discuss and plan actions in support of the immigrant and refugee communities.

FRS Sanctuary 26 Pleasant St, Newburyport

Sundays, Sanctuary, 10:30-11:30am with livestream on YouTube. Join us for worship from the Sunday after Labor Day through late spring. Experience elements of the world religions, including our Christian roots and humanism. Find inspiration in choral and instrumental music (including organ), congregational singing, a time for children, readings, an offering, and meditative silence. Hear a sermon on social justice, spirituality, dealing with life’s challenges, or other issues. We may celebrate a holiday, act out a skit, or hold a coming-of-age ceremony. Services are usually followed by a 30-minute fellowship gathering or a monthly Justice Sunday program.

Palaver Strings: Based out of Portland, Maine, the Grammy-nominated, musician-led and nonprofit organization Palaver Strings seeks to strengthen and inspire community through music. Committed to performance, education, and creative collaboration, Palaver specializes in programming underrepresented voices. The term “palaver” comes from the term “palaver hut,” a traditional place for discussion and conflict resolution in Liberia and other West African countries.
