Sunday, June 30: Nourishment for the Soul – Kristen Miller Come bask in the beauty and serenity of the cello. Cellist Kristen Miller will share restorative, calming solo cello pieces, alternating with sacred texts and poetry. Kristen offers this service to soothe, restore, and uplift the spirit, leaving you ready to receive life’s gifts.
The Museum of Old Newbury and First Religious Society Unitarian Universalist will host an in-person community reading of Frederick Douglass's impassioned 1852 speech, “What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?” Lend your voice to this powerful participatory event. We will gather near the Garrison statue in Brown Square, Newburyport. Sunday, July 7: The Power of Gratitude – Sarina Khan Reddy and Manny Muros Sarina Khan Reddy will collaborate with Manny Muros, a gifted spiritual teacher and author who leads personal development and meditation retreats internationally, and his wife Alise Ashby, composer and songwriter, who creates music to soothe the senses and bring healing. Manny will lead a meditation experience focusing on gratitude with Alise composing music to accompany. Sarina Khan Reddy will explore the concept of gratitude as written in the Qur’an, in recognition of the Islamic New Year. Rev. Jane Tuohy will be assisting.

Alan Seale along with Gong Master Zach Field and Worship Associate Jessica Brown for “Spaciousness in the Breath of Life.” Even in our restless world, we can find stillness in the heart of our being and rest in our souls.

Sunday, July 28: Living Restorative Justice – Rev. Andrew Forsthoefel, Interfaith Minister What is restorative justice? Where does it come from? How does it work? And how do we live it, not only in our relationships with each other, but also in our relationship with ourselves? Reverend Andrew Forsthoefel, Restorative Practices Systems Specialist for the Cumberland County Public Health Department in Portland, ME, will explore the principles of restorative justice and offer reflections on how these principles can support us to live in alignment with the reality of our interconnectedness.
Sunday, August 4: Maudslay Walk with Dogs, 9am Let’s meet under the big tree in the park directly across from the parking lot for a walk and conversation in Maudslay. We highly encourage you to bring your dogs who enjoy this type of group socializing! Human friends are very welcome, as are their dogs, too!
Sunday, August 11: Worship Field Trip to Arlington Street Church UU. Worship, 11am-12pm; Tour, 1pm Carpool opportunities will be organized. Head to the historical Arlington Street Church, www.ascboston.org, in Boston for worship and a private group tour of the Basilica-style church interior thereafter. Bring a bagged lunch to eat on the Commons in between worship and the tour.
