Saturday, July 25, LMH Room A, 9:30-11am. Why do thoughtful people see the same world so differently? In this 90-minute interactive workshop, participants will explore worldviews: the largely invisible values and assumptions that shape what we notice, what we trust, and what we resist. Participants will take a short worldview assessment and consider three major worldviews active in the United States today — traditional, modern, and progressive — and why they so often talk past one another. This workshop offers a practical introduction for anyone interested in personal growth, intellectual exploration, or better dialogue across differences. To make the workshop convenient for more people, the same 90-minute session will be offered several times this summer. Each session begins at 9:30 AM. Please choose the Saturday date that works best for you: June 27, July 18, July 25, August 15, or August 29. To attend, please contact David Turner in advance at davidyturner@gmail.com. David is a longtime FRSUU member with 40 years of experience facilitating adult learning programs focused on interpersonal skills in professional environments.

Raible wrote, “We build on foundations we did not lay; we warm ourselves by fires we did not light; we sit in the shade of trees we did not plant; we drink from wells we did not dig.” All those things—and a thousand more, both good and evil—are our inheritance from our ancestors. We stand on their shoulders. Now: “What kind of ancestors will we choose to be?”
