This calendar lists FRSUU activities inside our buildings and in the community. It also shows when FRSUU spaces are being reserved by outside groups. Click on an event to see its location and more information.

Wednesday, October 14, Sanctuary, 6-7pm. Led by Melissa Lugo of Music in Action, this community singing event will feature three protest songs which will ground us together in civil movement, justice, and hope. Join us! $5 at the door. Internal: reserve from 5-7pm.
Wednesday, October 14, LMH Main Room, 7-8:30pm
Third Thursdays, LMH Nursery/Conf Room, 9:30-11am. A monthly, somewhat casual Parish Friends morning meeting – bring your own tea or coffee. An opportunity to meet other Parish Friends, ask questions, and brainstorm. If interested in simply learning more about Parish Friends, this would be a great forum. We realize mornings don’t work for everyone. If you are wanting to attend, but not able to, let Susan Ricker know at parishfriends@frsuu.org or use her personal contact information in the FRSUU Realm directory. Yes, we are meeting through the summer months.
Meets Thursdays (previously on Tuesdays) on Zoom at 11am. The FRSUU Poetry Group is open to all who enjoy reading or listening to poetry. Prompts or questions are provided as we listen multiple times to one poem a week. If you have been wishing you had more time in your busy schedule for poetry, give yourself the gift of one hour of poetry on Thursday mornings. Individuals with questions should contact Rev. Thursday, October 15, LMH Main Room, 1-2:30pm. Balance! Balance changes as we age. Stable balance is important in avoiding falls, protecting independence, boosting confidence, and maintaining mobility, which improves our overall health. Learn how balance is assessed and strategies to improve yours. Brooke Knickles, a physical therapist assistant at Holmes Physical Therapy, will address these topics and more. In addition to her current work, Brooke has worked in rehab and skilled nursing facilities.
Thursdays, October 15-December 10, LMH Main Room, 6-6:45pm. This class is for all for all voice types and skill levels and will cover the basics of making vocal sounds in a group setting. Think of it as a group voice lesson. We will cover breathing techniques for the singer, basic music notation reading, and we'll sing songs to unite our voices together. Class will be led by Nick Place, Director of Church Music.
Thursdays starting September 3, LMH Main Room, 7-8:30pm
Fridays, LMH Room A and Zoom, 10-11:30am. (Zoom setup at 9:45) We meet weekly and read both fiction and non-fiction books chosen by participants. Each book is read and discussed over a period of several meetings, with the reading for each determined by the group.
